About Jesus
There are lots of ways we could talk about who Jesus is and what he means. One simple way is through four images, which all conveniently start with a "C".
Cradle
We don't have to guess who God is or invent him for ourselves. The Bible is clear that the way we know God is through Jesus, who was born, lived, died, and rose. Because Jesus lived among us, he knows what it is to suffer and struggle, and also what it means to trust God in a world which rejects him.
Cross
The ultimate way that God shows his love for us is in redeeming us through Jesus. When Jesus died, he died the death that we deserve. But as he died, he took the punishment that was our due, and frees us from the weight and guilt of sin to live new lives of thanks.
Crown
Because Jesus didn't stay dead but rose, we know that death is not the end. But it also means that Jesus is not just a good teacher or a friend or an example to follow. He is our redeemer and he is our Lord. We don't follow Jesus as one out of many legitimate options, but as God's chosen king, the rightful heir of all creation.
Choice
As such, everyone must choose whether they will decide for themselves what is right and wrong, how to live and behave, how to understand themselves and those around them, OR, whether they will follow Jesus as their king and saviour. Each person must decide for themselves whether to live for self, or to live for Jesus.
