DAVID TRUONG

SENIOR MINISTER

David’s main responsibilities include preaching, teaching and pastoral care. His hope is to see ND church continue to grow under God’s sovereign leadership in becoming a Christ-centred, gospel focused and grace oriented church.David was appointed pastor of ND Church in 2009 upon graduation from Morling Theological College with a Master of Divinity degree and has recently graduated from Master of Arts (Theology) in 2018. Prior to joining ND Church, David worked in a consulting firm as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a Bachelor of Building Construction Management (UNSW) and AAIQS.

David is married to Gigi and together they have a son, Isaac and a daughter, Valarie. They love travelling together and spending time playing music.

 

Doug Fyfe

ENGLISH PASTOR

Doug joined NDCCCS in 2012 as the English Pastor, responsible for overseeing our English ministry. His main areas of ministry are in teaching, preaching, training and discipleship. Doug graduated from Moore Theological College with a Bachelor of Divinity in 2011 and has since completed his Masters in Theology on the structure of Ecclesiastes also at Moore College (2019), and is currently working part time on a PhD on the Psalms and the Dead Sea Scrolls at the University of Sydney.

He is married to Jayme, whom he met while studying at college, and they have two sons, Elias and Callum. Doug likes spending time with his chickens and trying to perfect his home brew recipe.

 

PATRICK TSE

CHINESE PASTOR

Patrick graduated from Chinese Theological College Australia (CTCA) with a Master of Ministry degree before he became a pastor at NDCCCS in 2022.

Patrick was born in Hong Kong. He completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) at Macquarie University and worked as an Assistant Accountant in Sydney. After several years working in the commercial field, Patrick decided to devote his life to serve the Lord full time as an Office Manager in a Christian organization named Marriage & Family for Christ (MFFC), of which a ministry that promotes marriage enrichment and family ministries, as well as healthy and godly boys’ and girls’ relationships amongst the young Christians across Australia.

Patrick is married to Selene, whom he met while serving at MFFC. The two have always been good partners both in ministry and in life. They have two sons, Tobias and Osias. The couple enjoys having coffees and lunch together in their free times and enjoys the tranquility of the time that they get to spend together alone.

Carissa LI

CHINESE PASTOR

Carissa joined NDCCCS in August 2020 as our Mandarin Pastor upon graduating from Chinese Theological College Australia (CTCA) with a Bachelor Degree of Ministry. Previously, she spent two years as a ministry trainee at Chinese and Australian Baptist Church - West Ryde and Grace Point Presbyterian Church Sydney.

Carissa’s main responsibilities include assisting the Senior Minister in pastoring the Mandarin congregation. Her areas of ministry are preaching, teaching, discipleship and pastoral care.

In 2003, Carissa met her husband Michael and they got married in the following year. Carissa likes drinking tea, cloud viewing, planting succulents, cooking and swimming.

 

Candy Leung

CHILDREN’S PASTOR

Candy joined NDCCCS in October 2021 as the Children Pastor, responsible for our KFC Children’s ministry. Her main areas of ministry are equipping the teachers, supporting the parents and pastoring the kids. She was born in Hong Kong, came to Australia when she was 12 and became a follower of Jesus in High School.

Candy graduated from Moore Theological College in 2008 with a Bachelor of Theology. After college, she served as the Assistant Minister at Lidcombe Anglican Church for 3 years, and then as the Children and Women’s Ministry Worker at CABC Thornleigh for 9 years. Prior to full time ministry, she graduated from the University of Sydney and worked as a merchandise planner for 4 years.

Candy and Ivan were married in 2010. Ivan is working at the SBS Cantonese Radio as a Broadcaster. The couple enjoys hiking, adventures, travelling, movies, music, and spending time with their two fur babies, Ninja and Nana. Candy also loves puzzles and colouring, self-learning the ukulele and Japanese, and trying out new cooking recipes.

 
 
 

Emily Au

CHINESE PASTOR

Emily was born in Hong Kong. When she was 12, she immigrated to New York, the United States. She completed her bachelor degree in accounting at Hunter College in New York City in 2011. Emily came to Australia in 2014. She began her Master of Divinity studies in 2015 and graduated from Morling College in 2018. After graduating from Morling College, she worked as a Cantonese pastor at CECA Mosaix Missional Church for 2 years. During this period, besides serving in the church, Emily also participated in other ministries that serve young people, such as the CCYSC and the Across Youth Hub. Emily joined NDCCCS in 2022 as the Cantonese Pastor. Emily loves travelling, listening to music, and drinking coffee in her free time.

 
 
 

Matt Chiu

ENGLISH MINISTRY APPRENTICE

Matt has been attending NDCCCS since he has been a child and became a Christian at a high school Christian camp. He graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) in 2019 and practiced as a community Occupational Therapist for three years.

Matt is passionate about seeing young people know Jesus and devoting their lives to him. He has been a part of the youth team since 2016 and will be responsible for coordinating the youth ministry (WIRED) as his main responsibility in his apprenticeship.

He is married to Steph whom he met at summer mission. Matt loves basketball and cooking delicious meals for family and friends.

 

Jeremy lai

ENGLISH MINISTRY APPRENTICE

Jeremy joined the NDCCCS pastoral team in 2023 as an ministry apprentice however has been attending ND since he was born. Jeremy's main responsibilities include leading the praise and worship team, playgroup and youth ministry, preaching, training and discipling the next generation of leaders. Prior to that, Jeremy graduated from USYD with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise Physiology) and has been prescribing exercise as rehabilitation over the past years.

Jeremy loves playing ultimate frisbee, rock climbing, and fishing. His favourite cuisine is Korean or a good juicy burger.
