Who are the Mission Ministry Team?

The Mission Ministry Team has 10 brothers and sisters from the Chinese and English Congregations of NDCCCS. Members of the team are Rev Michael Chu, Li-Shia Lo (Deacon-in-charge), Caleb Ng, Dorothy Lai, Hannah Chu, Yuan Cheng Li, Greta Lai, Raymond Chan, Zion Siu and Terence Li (Chairperson).

“It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.” Isaiah 49:6.

It is God’s intentions for His people to be a messenger of God’s salvation to the ends of the earth. Therefore, the Mission Ministry Team seeks to help all brothers and sisters at ND to consider how they as individuals can reflect the picture described by Isaiah 49:6. Ultimately, we hope that all brothers and sisters at ND can be obedient in participating with our Living God in mission, and to be living lives that are strategic in decisions and discipleship—in whatever way, shape or form.

We want to personally challenge brothers and sisters at ND to continue actively participating in God’s global work, whether it is as Goers (those who go cross-culturally to communicate the Gospel), Active Senders (those who provide strategic support from the home base), Mobilisers (those who are passionate to identify and raise workers to finish the task of world evangelisation), Welcomers (those who welcome international gospel workers in their country).

The roles of the Mission Ministry Team are wide-ranging, and involve:

  • Developing and implementing effective mission strategies.
  • Promoting the awareness and importance of missions through contexts such as cell groups, mission fortnights, short term mission trips etc.
  • Equipping congregations to carry out and support mission works
  • Managing the Mission Fund to ensure sufficient funds will be available and distribute according to the annual plan.
  • Co-working with local and overseas Mission organisations to send and support missionaries.
  • Initiating and promoting missionary care.
  • Searching, developing and providing support to potential missionaries.
